Ayer Keroh is a small town of the Malacca State, Malaysia. Apart from the old Malacca Town, over the years Ayer Keroh has gained popularity among tourists due to its various interesting attractions.

The town Ayer Keroh is known for the Mini Malaysia Cultural Village and the Mini ASEAN Cultural Park situated in it. These parks give an interesting inside view of the traditional houses found in the states of Malaysia, as well as, each country within ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations), promoting regional unity.
Another site of attraction is the Zoo Melaka. With 200 animals of more than 200 species, it is the second largest zoo in the country. The zoo also houses some rare and endangered species including Sumatran rhinoceroses, gaurs and Malayan sunbears.
Visitors can view the animals from outside the enclosure or enjoy the animal rides and shows. Elephant rides are specifically popular among the younger crowd.
Expanded over an area of 1.5 hectare, there is a Mini-Safari, for an experience of the African Wildlife. While walking along a raised platform, visitors can view the animals much closer. The safari was beautifully landscaped by the National Parks and Wildlife Department, costing them around RM 7.2 million. The animals include impalas, springboks, zebras, deers, emus and storks.
Furthermore, the Zoo Melaka also functions as a center for wildlife research, zoo education center, conservation breeding, and a very popular destination among the tourists.
Recently, the Zoo Melaka has started the Night Zoo programme. Now you can view the nocturnal animals. The Night Zoo is opened on Fridays to Sundays. For more information, log on to www.zoomelaka.gov.my.
There is also a Butterfly Farm & Reptile Park.
It is a home to a variety of butterfly species, reptiles, birds, etc. Visitors are free to spend their hours strolling and awed by the animals.
Also popular is the Crocodile Farm (Taman Buaya). Being the largest in the country, the farm is designed to create a natural environment for the reptiles. Species of crocodiles that can be seen here include the Albino and the Hunchbacked.
Known as Taman Lebah Mini Malaysia, the World Bees Museum is another fascinating attraction of Ayer Keroh. With free honey samples for all visitors, now you can enjoy and deepen your knowledge of the breeding process of honeybees.
Directions
From the North-South Expressway, the Ayer Keroh toll is the main entry point for the state of Melaka. Hence, Melaka is easily accessible from anywhere in the Peninsular Malaysia.
The town of Ayer Keroh is about a 2 hour drive from Kuala Lumpur.
