Melaka has everything that Malaysia can afford!  From mammoth state-of-the-art shopping malls to culturally rich museums and historical buildings to the ingredient Malaysia is known for: Melaka Beaches and Melaka Islands.  Here are some the can’t-afford-to-miss islands and beaches in Melaka, Malaysia:

Pulau Besar Island

The Pulau Besar Island is located three nautical miles away from the Pengkalan Pernu in Umbai, south of Melaka town.  It has an area covering about 133 hectares, and it is the largest island off the Melaka coast.

This Melaka island is famous for its virgin beauty which makes it a delight for people looking for peace in nature.  On the white sandy beaches of Pulau Besar, you’ll find an 18-hole international golf course, a luxury hotel and several beach chalets, a yacht club and a range of water sport facilities like fishing, parasailing, windsurfing, water-skiing and snorkeling.

Tanjung Kling Beach

A newly developed Melaka beach, the Tanjung Kling is situated 15 km away from Malacca Town; it is a scenic stretch of white beach lined with coconut palms and sea shells, which is ideal for a quick break from the buzzing Melaka.

Pantai Kundur Beach

A small fishing village cum beach near Melaka, the Pantai Kundur Island is 17 km from Malacca Town.  The local Melakans love to frequent this beach as it is known for swimming and picnicking.  You’ll find lines of casuarina trees providing shade to visitors enjoying themselves in the water and playing on the sand.

Tanjung Bidara Beach

If you wish to spend a day away from the urban Melaka, this is for you!  Situated 20 km from Malacca Town, the beach of Tanjung Bidara has fertile vegetation and a peaceful ambiance which is ideal for relaxation or recreational activities.  The water is not suitable for swimming, but the place has everything that you need at hand when going for an outing.

Pulau Upeh Island
