About Homestay Seri Tanjung

Homestay Seri Tanjung is a concept seldom found anywhere in the world; it’s an experiment to help tourists experience the real village way of life at Seri Tanjung.  The concept won the National beautiful competition twice and it continues to woo locals and tourists alike.  Seri Tanjung offers accommodation for visitors under the Homestay concept enabling them to live village life fist-hand.  This program is run by an organization under the administration of the Malacca State Government and the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia.

Tips for Travelers

Visitors will be kept with their host families in the village of Seri Tanjung, which will allow them to capture the real essence of village life in a new and distinct way.  You will surely be mesmerized by the simple lives of the village people, living in traditional houses surrounding all sorts of green flora.  The accommodations are provided and managed by their respective owners, which means each house defines the owner’s personality and offers a different perspective into their village life.

Presently, there are forty houses available, which means that a total of a hundred rooms are at hand.  The meals are prepared by the hosts, which consists of different Malay dishes for visitors.  Alternative living in chalets (built in a fruit orchard), and hostels (with a capacity up to 100 people at a time) are also available.  Tanjung Bidara Beach, the famous seaside spot, and Pengkalan Balak Beach roasted fish restaurants are only 6 km away.

How should visitors get to the Seri Tanjung Village?

As mentioned, Seri Tanjung Village is located just 24 km from Melaka town.  You have two options: you can either take a taxi from the town to Seri Tanjung or contact your hosts to pick you up from the hotel.
